بابُ الإعراب
Bāb al-I'rāb — The Chapter on Inflection
ما الإعراب؟ وما أقسامه؟ وما الفرق بين المعرب والمبني؟

ما هو الإعراب؟

What is I'rāb?
متن الآجرومية
الإعرابُ هو تغييرُ أواخرِ الكَلِمِ لاختلافِ العواملِ الداخِلةِ عليها لفظاً أو تقديراً
I'rāb is the changing of word-endings due to the differing of the grammatical agents operating upon them, whether explicitly or in estimation.
📌
الإعراب هو قلب علم النحو — كل ما تعلمناه حتى الآن (الكلام، الأقسام، العلامات) كان تمهيداً لهذا الباب.
I'rāb is the heart of Arabic grammar — everything learned so far (kalām, types, signs) was preparation for this chapter.
💡
الإعراب في اللغة: الإبانة والتوضيح. وفي الاصطلاح: تغييرُ أواخرِ الكلمات بسبب اختلاف العوامل الداخلة عليها.
Linguistically, i'rāb means "making clear/explaining." Grammatically: the change in word-endings caused by differing grammatical agents.
🔑
المُعرَبان: الاسمُ الخالي من شبه الحرف — والفعلُ المضارعُ العاري من نون التوكيد ونون النسوة. وما عداهما مبني.
What gets inflected: The noun (free of particle-resemblance) + the muḍāri' verb (free of emphatic nūn and feminine nūn). Everything else is fixed (mabnī).
