Arabic Keyboard لوحة المفاتيح العربية

Type Arabic online: tap the letters below or use your own keyboard, add vowel marks, then copy your text — or look up any word to hear it from native speakers.

How to type in Arabic

  1. Tap the letters on the keyboard above, or just type: each key of your own keyboard gives the Arabic letter printed on the same key of an Arabic keyboard (Q is ض, H is ا, B is لا).
  2. Hold Shift for the vowel marks (harakat) and hamza forms, or use the row of marks above the letters. Type the letter first, then its mark.
  3. Copy your text and paste it anywhere: an email, a document, a search engine or a message.

Vowel marks (harakat)

Arabic is usually written without short vowels, but learners, poems, the Quran and children's books show them as small marks above or below the letter.

Arabic on your phone or computer

On a phone, this page works with the keyboard above. To type Arabic everywhere, add the Arabic keyboard in your phone's settings (Keyboards on iPhone, Languages & input on Android) or your computer's language settings (Windows and macOS both include it) — the letters sit on the same keys as here.
