Terms of Use – ArabicRoom
Last updated: Oct 1, 2025
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and ArabicRoom (“we”, “us”). They apply to www.arabicroom.com and everything on it: the Learning Hub word search, vocabulary lessons, Smart Review, Practice Sets, games and class games, classical Arabic courses, and our e-mails. By creating an account, subscribing, or playing a class game, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use ArabicRoom. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.

1. Who can use ArabicRoom
You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live (usually 18), a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. Younger students may join class games with a nickname, without an account, under their teacher’s supervision.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- An account is for one person. Do not share, sell or transfer it.
- We may change a username or display name that is offensive or impersonates someone else.
3. Plans, payments and free trial
- Free: free of charge, with the features and daily limits shown on the pricing page. We may change the free features and limits.
- Pro: billed monthly or yearly, in advance, in US dollars, through our payment provider Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Taxes are added where the law requires.
- Automatic renewal: a subscription renews at the end of each period and your payment method is charged, until you cancel.
- Free trial: the 7-day trial needs a card. If you do not cancel before it ends, the plan you chose starts and is charged. One trial per person; creating extra accounts or e-mail aliases to get more trials is not allowed, and we may charge or end such accounts.
- Price changes: we will tell you before a new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
- Errors: if a price on the site is shown by mistake, we may correct it and cancel orders made at the wrong price.
- If you cannot afford a plan, contact us. We want Arabic education to be available to everyone.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Manage Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period already paid; after that your account returns to the Free plan and your saved words stay. Payments are not refundable, except where the law requires it” or “We refund the yearly plan if you ask within 14 days of payment”. If you are not happy with the service, write to us before anything else; we will try to fix it.
5. University and school access
Students and teachers of partner institutions get Pro access by confirming their institutional e-mail address. This access lasts while the institution is a partner and while you belong to it; we may end it when either is no longer true. One institutional address can be linked to one account. An institution may have its own written agreement with us; where it conflicts with these terms, that agreement applies to that institution.
6. Fasiha (AI explanations)
Fasiha explanations, summaries and generated word lists are produced by artificial intelligence. They are a learning aid and can contain mistakes. Check important points with a teacher or a reference book, and do not rely on them alone for exams, official translations or decisions where accuracy matters.
7. Video clips
Video clips belong to their owners and are shown through embedded YouTube players so you can hear real Arabic. You may watch them on ArabicRoom. You may not download, copy or reuse them, and YouTube’s own terms apply to them.
8. Class games
Teachers who host class games are responsible for using them appropriately with their students, including any consent their school requires. Names and nicknames must be respectful. A teacher can remove a player from a game, and we may remove offensive names. A teacher sees the results of the players in the games they host, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Our content
Lessons, word lists, explanations, classical Arabic courses, exercises, games, characters, designs, the ArabicRoom and Fasiha names and logos, and the software are owned by ArabicRoom or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning, and for teaching your own classes on the platform. You may not copy, republish, sell or distribute them elsewhere – including lessons, word lists, exercises or explanations – without our written permission.
10. Your content and feedback
You keep ownership of what you create: Practice Sets, imported word lists, comments and messages. You allow us to store, process and display it as needed to run the service – for example a teacher’s Practice Set used in a class game. You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload and that it is not unlawful, hateful, offensive or misleading. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve ArabicRoom without any obligation to you.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or scrapers, or download words, explanations or clips in bulk;
- try to get around limits, payments, the paywall or access controls, or to break or overload the service;
- use ArabicRoom or its content to build a competing product, or resell it;
- harass, threaten or trick other users or our team, or try to get their passwords;
- impersonate another person or use another person’s account;
- upload viruses or anything harmful, or send spam or advertising;
- use the service for anything illegal.
12. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using ArabicRoom at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms seriously or repeatedly, or when the law requires it; where reasonable we will tell you why first. If we close your account for a breach, you may not open a new one without our permission.
13. Changes to the service
We keep improving ArabicRoom, so features may be added, changed or removed. We may also need to pause the service for maintenance or because of technical problems. If we remove a main paid feature, we will tell Pro subscribers, who can cancel.
14. No guarantees
ArabicRoom is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it available, secure and correct, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, or that every explanation or translation is accurate. We are not responsible for websites or services of others that we link to or embed.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of ArabicRoom. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and announce important changes on the site or by e-mail before they apply. If you keep using ArabicRoom after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel and stop using the service.
17. Governing law and disputes
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of NC state. If there is a problem, please contact us first; we will try to solve it within 30 days.
18. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about ArabicRoom. If one part is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not given it up. We may transfer this agreement to someone who takes over ArabicRoom; your rights under it stay the same. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. You agree that notices from us by e-mail or on the site count as “in writing”.
